Asbestos Stomach Cancer

There were fractures in the ceiling for years, and after a tree fell on the school the ceiling began to crumble and fall off. I tore it out and replaced it, but never thought of the possibility of asbestos. There was a heat duct going to the ceiling that was labelled as having asbestos in it, but I figured the would not allow a crumbly ceiling if it contained asbestos. Now I am freaking out!

We’re looking at buying a house that has asbestos siding and I was wondering if you had to get someone special to replace it or if it could be replaced by anyone who does siding. I’m just bored, so I thought I’d ask on here.

Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the IPCC, has attacked the sceptics who are asking entirely rational questions about some of the IPCC’s claims, accusing them of indulging in ‘skullduggery of the worst kind’. Sceptic, kill thyself! Behaving more like a secular Vatican than a genuinely Enlightened, open-minded, inquisitive gathering of investigative scientists, the IPCC’s overlords treat dissent as something disgusting.

Is this typical top down behaviour from the alarmists… surely not?

i thank i have old school ceiling tile, that is made out of asbestos, i would like to see some pics of the stuff. to be sure.

My wife and I are looking to purchase a house that has asbestos wrapped pipes in the finished basement. Didnt know if it would be best to replace the pipes with a different type of insulation or if it would be ok to simply recover or re-wrap them. What would be the cost difference between these two options? If we simply re-wrap the pipes instead of removing them, what will this do to the resale value of the house? I understand that anything with asbestos is not good to have in a house. But I have also heard that simply painting over a surface that has lead-based paint with new, non-lead paint is sufficient. That is basically what I want to potentially do with these pipes if we buy this house. At the extreme, would having these pipes with asbestos be enough to cause you not to buy this house? Thanks.

I do mean hanging pipe asbestos insulation above the food production plant…

I cannot find any study of research that shows such a problem or risk but given the size of the particles and the nature of vehicles being used in disruptive ways it appears to be a likelihood.

Asbestos and Fire Door?
Everyday for a year I opened a door at my company that is labelled “Warning, Contains Asbestos.” This door was very heavy and slammed against the frame everytime. It wouldn’t even shut all the way. This was a couple of years ago, but is this an asbestos concern for my health? I did no work to it or drilling, just opening it and watching it slam. No one else seemed to care. Will I die from Asbestos? I am scared. I heard this is nasty stuff. Please answer honestly.
