I am going to the Cancer Center today to discuss my test results. I already know that the test didn’t come back perfect, but a very, very mild dysplasia, not related to radiation I had for my cervical cancer. I was OK with this new information I’ve been given a few weeks ago and I have maintained a positive attitude about it, until right now :/ I am leaving in 1 hour to go to the cancer center to discuss these results. I am feeling nauseous and sick to my stomach, and sweating bullets. I think it’s anxiety…I don’t know though I feel pretty sick. Do you think just the thought of going to the place that made me feel sick before is just getting to me? And before I start to break down can someone tell me something that will make me not cry…which I am about to do?
I’m scared they’re gonna tell me something really scary, like what if’s…if the very, very mild dysplasia progresses (aggressively like it did before)…then surgery, or something else that I am terrified of…
What causes a full/bloated feeling just below my ribs in the center of my stomach?

I’ve had this off and on and the last few days is really annoying me. Directly below the center of where my ribs end, maybe around the upper stomach, I have this hard, full feeling. If I feel around it seems like something is there but I don’t know if it’s cartilage, my diagphram or what. I’ve been on Nexium for 4 months, had an endoscopy that came back normal. Could this be a side effect of nexium? I’m starting to get worried I have stomach cancer! My bowels are fine, no pain, swallowing is fine, appetite is fine. Any suggestions ?

How do I locate an experienced esophageal surgeon and center for patients who undergo esophagectomy? I’ve recently been diagnosed with early stage adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. The surgeon I’ve seen explains an esophagectomy is performed by two surgical teams. One to take down the blood and nerve supply to the stomach and another to remove the esophagus. I have COPD and am very scared of this surgery. It’s my understanding this type of surgery has been performed only four times in my local hospital. Two of those four patients died. I’d like information on where, in the eastern half of the U.S., this type of surgery is performed most often and what the success rate is.
