Human respiratory system can’t clean out the air which has cancer-causing asbestos strings. So person is breathing narrow and long asbestos needles. The most dangerous asbestos string is alveolar fraction, which length is longer than 5 mm and width – lesser than 3 mm.
Most of asbestos rised ilnesses are: lungs and pleura asbestosis, pleura and peritoneum Dažniausiai asbesto sukeliamos ligos – plaučių bei krūtinplėvės asbestozė, krūtinplėvės
bei pilvaplėvės mesothelioma, larynx, lungs, stomach, intestine and kidney cancer.

The microscopic bundles of fibres, when airbourne, can be inhaled into the lungs where they can cause very significant asbestos related diseases, which often go unnoticed for 15-40 years.
These diseases include, but are not limited to:
Asbestosis – As asbestos fibres are inhaled, they may become trapped in the lungs. The body tries to dissolve the fibres by producing an acid, that due to the nature of asbestos, does little to damage the fiber, but instead damages the surrounding tissue. Eventually, this damage may become so severe (taking as long as 25-40 years) that the lungs cannot function.
Mesothelioma – A cancer of the outer lining of the lung and/or the abdominal wall. This form of cancer is peculiar because the only known cause is from asbestos exposure. The latency period is often 15-30 years.
Cancer – The effects of lung cancer caused by asbestos are often greatly increased by cigarette smoking . Cancer of the gastrointestinal tract can also be caused by asbestos. The latency period for cancer is often 15-30 years.
Asbestos does not cause any immediate symptoms. The effects often go unnoticed for 15-40 years, making asbestos a silent, but very dangerous, killer

Chrysotile asbestos, like all other forms of industrial asbestos, has produced tumors in animals. Mesotheliomas have been observed in people who were occupationally exposed to chrysotile, family members of the occupationally exposed, and residents who lived close to asbestos factories and mines. Brown asbestos, like all asbestos, is hazardous. Amosite is the most hazardous of the asbestos minerals due to its hollow straight fiber structure that can stay airborne for up to 72 hours. It also does not get trapped by water as easily as the serpentine fibers do of crysotile. Tremolite often contaminates chrysotile asbestos, thus creating an additional hazard.
Asbestos exposure becomes a health concern when high concentrations of asbestos fibers are inhaled over a long time period People who become ill from asbestos are almost always those who are exposed on a day-to-day basis in a job where they work directly with the material. As a person’s exposure to fibers increases, either by breathing more fibers or by breathing fibers for a longer time, that person’s risk of disease also increases. Disease is very unlikely to result from a single, high-level exposure, or from a short period of exposure to lower levels.
that is what it says on wikipedia

You know you could get this from Wiki right??…?
ANyway, Asbestos is only harmful if it damaged, disturbed or broken up. It comes in amy forms and has had many uses over the years (I am most familiar with the construction uses) Anyway, when it is airborne we can breath it in. It never breaks down and never goes away. It is a known carcinogen wich means it is a cancer causing agent (causes lung cancer) and other nasty respitory problems.
Do a little research as I don’t know what you want and am not prepared to do the research for you. Enjoy.

    1. It causes, in young adults, diminished ability to perceive logic and act maturely.
    2. For people addicted to the internet, it causes poor spelling ability and proclivity to simple mistakes. Also causes lapses in judgment, sometimes leading to petty flame wars.
    3. In school-age individuals, promotes decreased awareness of personal responsibility and encourages cheating and slacking.
    Is that any help?

You need a better answer than you can find here, go to a web site by NIOSH or a environmental website or a medical related website. Normally you will find diseases such as fibrosis, Cancer, leukemia, Emphysema, and other advanced lung ailments.
    Note:
You can get this asbestos related ailments from pipe insulation coverings such as steam piping, mastic which is used under floor tile to adhere, in window packing, wall material and in many places such as schools, institutions etc.
The removal process is expensive and usually cities set aside monies for that purpose alone because of the expense and training required. the other thing to note is that it does not take much to disturb abestos to comtaminate yourself.

Asbestos fibres, if inhaled, are a cause of a specific cancer, mesothelioma, which can first show symptoms many years after exposure.
