You’d want to look up some medical journals to get the whole scoop. There is recently published evidence that suggests that H pylori is protective against gastric cancer (while being a risk factor for developing GORD and peptic ulcers). So apparently if you have H pylori you have a slightly better chance of not getting gastric cancer. Thing is, gastric cancer is not one of the commoner cancers, so does anyone want to put up with a lifetime of heartburn to marginally decrease their risk of an uncommon disease? I wouldn’t.
