Who Do I Call For Asbestos Tile Removal?
i have been removing the old carpet from my floor in preparation of having new carpet and hardwood floors installed by my local retailer. but for some reason they cant remove the tile, and cant even give me a solution as to who can remove it. im at a stand still here until i can find the proper company that will remove and dispose of this tile properly. please help. i live in southern California. i dont necessarily need a specific company, just what kind of company do i call for this type of removal. thank you,.
Just mask up and peel it up, so you dont breath any particles, Vaccum well and wash the floor and walls well afterwards.

Most asbestos is easily abated just by covering it up with a durable material. Less harm than removing it.
If you call hazardous waste it is going to cost you a fortune.

Get a mask and remove it yourself.
It really is not hazardous until it is smashed up. If you are careful using a tile remover they should just pop right up.
People have been removing this for years and quite frankly unless it has been tested it may have little or no asbestos in it.
As for disposal you can box it or bag it and wait for your city to do a hazardous waste collection……….. or put it in the dumpster
You need a company licensed and specializing in asbestos removal. This is not going to be cheap but the health risks from improper removal are great. One other option: if the floor is in good condition (no broken, cracked, crumbling tiles) you can leave it in place and carpet over it. When you sell your property, you must disclose this to the prospective buyer or risk being sued later when they find out asbestos is present.
